It’s hard to believe we’re at the end of 2021 and we’ve been dealing with this global pandemic for just under 2 years now. I think it’s safe to say most folks have had enough and are transitioning back into ‘normal’ life as much as possible now. Fortunately for our industry many travelers were more interested in outdoor activities and our partners saw some incredible numbers and success throughout 2021. In this wrap up we’ll speak to what we saw with regards to industry trends, go over our biggest feature updates, discuss our growth, and look forward with what to expect in 2022, let's get started.
Watersports in 2021
This pandemic has been awful on most accounts but if we can find a small silver lining for our industry it’s that many folks were more interested in moving their activities outside. Being that much of our industry is personal or private group activities we saw an increase from ‘normal’ years. After the difficult task of navigating through the safety precaution hoops and the like many of our partners had their best year ever, which is incredible thinking back to the tone of early 2020. Talking with partners at the Orlando Watersports Forum this year it was clear that their perseverance and optimism paid off. Although we believe that in 2022 the surge of domestic travel will taper off, we’re optimistic that international demand should fill that void as tourists begin traveling again. We continue to see growth throughout 2022 in the watersports category and believe the trend towards outdoor activities won’t be ending any time soon.
WaveRez Main Software Feature Updates
Our development team at WaveRez worked their butts off this year and not only kept our software bug free with 99% uptime but shipped some huge product updates as well. Our largest feature update also had the biggest impact on our partners’ bottom lines. WaveLogic, our dynamic pricing feature, was a smashing success for our partners who implemented it. Launching this pricing algorithm was a painstaking process of design/iteration/testing/repeat as pricing changes are complicated and intertwine with essentially all parts of the software. We finally conquered the project in early 2021 and since being implemented on partners’ booking portals we’ve seen thousands of dollars added to the bottom line from the same pieces of equipment and the same schedules. We have some big updates in the pipeline for 2022 and we’re stoked to keep iterating and improving our software to make our partners’ lives easier and increase their profits. WaveRez Software Solution Growth
Just as many of our partners had a banner year in 2021, we had our best year as well, both in revenue and growth. We can’t say enough how appreciative we are of each and every partner that trusts our product to help their business succeed, thank you! In 2021 we continued to excel in our bread and butter coastal markets but we began expanding into lakes and rivers towards the middle of the country and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ll be adding features to support our lakes partners better and can’t wait to see what’s in store for their growth in the new year. We look forward to providing the same level of service and support our current partners love to many new partners in 2022.
